Injectables

As we age there are factors that change the appearance of our face and skin. Gravity, volume loss, sun and environmental damage all play a role in the aging process and the appearance of fine and deep lines in our face.

There are two categories of injectables that can be used to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles: dermal fillers and Botox.

DERMAL FILLERS

Collagen is a natural part of our skin’s support structure. As we age, collagen begins to thin and the effects of aging begin to show including wrinkles and skin laxity. Dermal fillers are used to restore volume lost during the aging process. Dermal fillers plump up the skin, smoothing out wrinkles and folds.

There are several types of dermal fillers such as Juvederm, which will last approximately 9 months to a year, and longer lasting options including Voluma and Bellafill.

Voluma
Voluma is an innovative injectable hyaluronic acid facial filler that delivers smooth, natural-looking fullness to sunken cheeks and firmness to a softening jaw line. Voluma has been reported to last up to 18 months, longer than many other facial fillers.
The first of its kind, Voluma is a hyaluronic acid facial filler specifically made to restore age-related volume loss in the mid-face (the cheeks, cheekbones and around the chin). It uses hyaluronic acid, a sugar that occurs naturally in your skin, to instantly restore lost facial volume in the cheeks and contour the chin.
Voluma also combines with collagen and elastin to improve skin structure and elasticity, and create a smooth natural look. The results are instant, natural looking and can last up to 18 months. Plus there’s no downtime – most people resume normal activities immediately.
Bellafill (formerly Artefill)

Bellafill is different from temporary injectable wrinkle fillers. The unique microspheres in Bellafill are not absorbed by the body and provide the support your skin needs for natural, long lasting results. Studies show that it can last 5 to 10 years.

If you have used temporary wrinkle fillers in the past, you know they are eventually absorbed by your body and require frequent repeat injections to maintain the results you've come to love.

Bellafill is different from temporary injectable wrinkle fillers. The unique microspheres in Bellafill are not absorbed by the body and provide the support your skin needs for natural, long lasting results.

Bellafill treatments are provided during an in-office visit. You will see immediate results that continue to improve over time.

How does Bellafill work?

Bellafill is a dual-acting injectable wrinkle filler. First, Artefill visibly corrects the wrinkle. Then the microspheres provide the permanent support your skin needs for long-lasting wrinkle correction.

Who is it best for?

Bellafill is best for individuals who have used temporary dermal fillers previously and know they like the results. If you're not sure whether Bellafill is right for you, call today to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Bacon.

Juvederm

This natural injectable filler corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, the lines between the nose and the corners of the mouth.  They also can be used to enhance lips and cheeks for a more youthful look. Results are immediate and produce a natural enhancement that is gentle and safe to your skin. Treatments take approximately 30 minutes and last approximately 9 months. Recovery time is minimal; most clients return to normal activities immediately.

BOTOX

Daily facial expressions that we make can cause wrinkles – crow’s feet, wrinkles on the forehead and between the brows. These can make us look tired or angry.

Often called "a lunchtime facelift," Botox is a popular injection that reduces or eliminates wrinkles due to facial expressions. Botox injections allow the muscles to relax, allowing the skin to smooth out persistent lines that have developed over time due to muscular contractions.

Botox injections are simple and take about 10 minutes; you don’t have to worry about recovery or downtime. Results are dramatic and will last up to four months.
