Aging Face

As we age, noticeable changes take place in our face. These changes include wrinkles, dull skin and a drooping, tired appearance. Aging of the face is due mainly to environmental damage, loss of soft tissue support and elasticity.

Environmental damage comes from the sun, pollution and smoking. Sun damage appears as brown spots, wrinkles and a dull, uneven skin tone. We also begin to see lines and wrinkles due to repeated muscular movements, typically referred to as 'expression lines.' These typically appear on our forehead, beside our eyes and between our brows.

When we’re young, fat in our face plumps our forehead, temples, cheeks, and areas around the eyes and mouth. With age, fat loses volume and shifts downward. Features that were formerly round may deflate, and skin that was smooth and tight begins to sag.

BaconMD offers many in-office treatments and procedures to capture a more youthful appearance. Most are nonsurgical and allow you to have a very natural, refreshed appearance. Generally it is best to combine a few of these treatments to adequately address signs of aging.
